For a planning professional ready to step up, this role offers a first leadership position, with one direct report and room to grow. It sits with a growing primary-sector food manufacturer in Hamilton, New Zealand, which exports mainly to China and Southeast Asia.
You will own production planning and connect production with sales, so the work builds skills that carry well into senior supply chain careers, from demand forecasting to ERP master data. The deer velvet peak season continues through to February/March, so you would be expected to contribute from the start. Hours are full-time at 40 per week, with additional hours in peak, starting as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop production schedules and manage them to capacity, cost and quality targets
- Lead demand forecasting and provide a longer-term operational outlook
- Shape the value delivered by SAP, overseeing master data, inventories and bills of materials
- Coordinate supply chain activity, including packaging suppliers and dispatch, and work with QA to meet traceability, MPI and export market requirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, supported by strong forecasting skills
- Hands-on ERP experience, with SAP strongly preferred; training will be available
- Food or primary industry manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of QA
- Clear, confident communication, including management of customer expectations
- A practical, resilient and flexible approach to shifting deadlines
- Desirable background in team leadership, health and safety, or knowledge of exporting to Asia
- Reference checks and a Ministry of Justice criminal record check for shortlisted candidates
