Front-of-house professionals looking to build an international hospitality career will find a solid opening here. A Mexican-themed restaurant at the heart of Christchurch's dining district is appointing four experienced Waitstaff to deliver outstanding service and sell food and drinks through its structured selling system.
The role develops more than table skills. Staff complete regular in-house training modules on food, beverage and service, work with management on liquor licensing compliance and learn product promotion, all useful steps towards supervisory work later in a career.
The position is full-time at a minimum of 30 hours per week, with nights, weekends and the busy summer months included. The restaurant is an accredited employer and can assist through the immigration process if required, which makes AEWV sponsorship available as a pathway.

Key Responsibilities
- Receive guests and present the menu and the restaurant's offerings
- Take orders and serve food and beverages to tables
- Clear and reset tables and maintain a clean restaurant
- Process orders via the POS and settle electronic and cash payments
- Apply New Zealand liquor laws in partnership with management to enforce licensing requirements
- Promote products and services and complete scheduled in-house training modules
- Deliver service that follows the restaurant's selling system and responds to each guest's needs
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least six months of experience in a similar role, or a Level 2 or 3 Diploma qualification
- Good knowledge of New Zealand liquor laws
- Availability for nights, weekends and the busy summer months, with the motivation to work hard in a fast-paced role and learn the restaurant's offerings and service standards
