Sous Chef

Visa sponsorship

Hospitality · Whangarei, New Zealand · Full-Time · $35/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

For a chef building a long-term career, the Sous Chef step is where you move from running a section to helping run the whole kitchen. This opening, at a well-established waterfront restaurant in Northland, New Zealand, offers exactly that progression alongside an experienced Executive Chef.

The restaurant is busy and recognised for fresh flavours, quality local produce and relaxed dining. You would share leadership of the team, protect standards and keep the operation organised behind the scenes. The role is offered on a permanent or fixed-term basis with a minimum of 30 hours a week. New Zealand work eligibility is preferred; sponsorship may be considered for other applicants.

A strong CV at this level shows progression: the positions you have held, the kitchens and cuisines behind you and the leadership duties you have taken on, such as training, ordering or rostering. Show your kitchen career progression with Build AI CV.
