Key Responsibilities
- Mix and knead doughs as each recipe and production schedule requires
- Divide and mould the dough
- Monitor proofing, oven temperature and bake time closely
- Bake bread, rolls, buns and savoury lines to a consistently high standard, presented well
- Mentor apprentices and bakery assistants and support their development
- Keep the bakery clean and safe and follow food and workplace safety procedures
- Contribute to stock control and ingredient ordering, and help reduce production waste
- Partner with the bakery manager and team to meet daily production requirements
- Offer friendly customer service when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised qualification in the baking trade
- A minimum of two years' relevant commercial baking experience
- Strong practical expertise in bread and yeast-based bakery production
- Commitment to product quality, food safety and cleanliness
- Good communication, a collaborative approach and the ability to perform efficiently in a busy production environment
- Availability for early starts, weekends and public holidays as rostered
