Financial Accountant

Onshore applicants only

Visa sponsorship

Accounting & Finance · Melbourne, VIC, Australia · Contract · $90,000 - $120,000/yr · Visa: Employer sponsored · Applicants: Onshore applicants only

For an accountant who wants clear ownership of a group's books and a route to a permanent role, this Melbourne opening fits well. A fast-scaling online marketplace group in Melbourne's tech scene is adding a Financial Accountant. The role starts on a temporary footing and is designed to become a permanent full-time position.

The reporting line runs to the Financial Controller, with operational alignment to the CFO. Your accountabilities centre on closing each month on time, a balance sheet that reconciles and the compliance obligations of several entities. An assistant accountant handles transactional processing, leaving you to review core ledgers and support baseline cash and budgeting. The emphasis is accounting fundamentals and accurate reports, not commercial modelling, in a compact, open team with little bureaucracy.

On the long-term pathway, full visa sponsorship is available for eligible Working Holiday visa holders already in Australia who show proven accounting capability.

A precise English CV strengthens your case at this career stage. Name the Xero environments, entity structures and compliance cycles you have managed, and state your progress towards CA, CPA, ACCA or CIMA. Map your accounting career progression in Build AI CV.
