The business seeks around 2 to 3 years of Australian public practice experience. You would handle a portfolio of SMEs, companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, initially with an experienced Senior Accountant reviewing and supporting your work, then with more responsibility and client-facing work over time.
Development is part of the design: mentoring, CPA or CA support and a stated path to Senior Accountant and Client Manager. Employer sponsorship may be considered, subject to experience, role suitability and visa eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for a range of clients
- Prepare income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Prepare Business Activity Statements and complete accounting and taxation engagements for SMEs
- Contribute to year-end tax planning alongside individual returns
- Act as a point of contact for clients and liaise with the ATO as required
- Own your workflow and meet statutory deadlines
- Assist the Senior Accountant in managing a client portfolio on Xero and other cloud platforms
Requirements & Eligibility
- Around 2 to 3 years of experience in Australian public practice accounting
- Demonstrated preparation of financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Good working knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance, BAS preparation included
- Strong proficiency in Xero
- Good written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail
- Capacity to manage competing deadlines
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce or an equivalent discipline
- CPA or CA studies, or plans to commence them, highly regarded
