For a flooring tradesperson planning a long-term career in Australia, a permanent role on commercial projects is a solid foundation. A long-established Australian floor coverings business in Perth is recruiting a Flooring Installer on a full-time basis to work with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders on sites across Perth and Western Australia.
The position rewards specialists. You concentrate on the coverings you know best, plan the work in advance, deliver it right the first time and hand over a clean, professional finish. You report to the Site Supervisor and collaborate with the builder's site team and other trades, which builds the kind of commercial project exposure that supports career progression.
Performance is measured by quality installations completed on programme, safely and with minimal defects. The employer makes visa sponsorship available to suitably qualified overseas installers.

Key Responsibilities
- Install specialist resilient coverings such as sheet vinyl and LVT, including welding and coving
- Or, where carpet is your specialty, install carpet and carpet tiles
- Grind, patch, prime and level subfloors to prepare them for installation
- Conduct moisture and flatness testing ahead of installation and record the results
- Interpret drawings and finishes schedules; set out and measure to an accurate standard
- Collaborate with the builder's site team and other trades to deliver on programme
- Check, store and protect site materials and keep waste to a minimum
- Prepare timesheets, daily reports, quality checklists and photo records
- Adhere to site safety rules, inductions and safe work method statements at all times
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial flooring, either in Australia or overseas
- Proficiency in at least one trade: subfloor preparation, carpet installation or vinyl installation
- A floor covering trade qualification such as a Certificate III in Flooring Technology, or equivalent overseas qualification or experience, which is preferred but not required
- A WA White Card, or the ability to secure one before commencing
- A current driver's licence valid in Australia
- Strong attention to detail and proven reliability
- Effective communication in English on site
