Commis Chef
Visa sponsorship
Hospitality · Queenstown, New Zealand · Full-Time · $28 - $29/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored
Every chef career starts with solid commis years, and a hotel bar and restaurant in Queenstown, New Zealand, is offering two permanent positions to build them, each for 30 hours a week.
The role develops core technique: breakfast production, conference catering, precise plating and dishes adapted for dairy-free and gluten-free diets, all within HACCP and hygiene systems. Commis chefs in this kitchen also support training and recruitment when required, which is valuable for anyone aiming at a chef de partie role later.
Applicants should have worked in an equivalent kitchen position, have handled an à la carte menu and hold an NZQCF Diploma, although at least three years of relevant experience can substitute for it. Rosters cover late nights, weekends and public holidays. The employer can potentially offer visa sponsorship for the right candidate.
