Key Responsibilities

  • Lay bricks, concrete blocks and stone in mortar for new construction.
  • Carry out repair work on existing masonry structures.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to keep work aligned with project needs.
  • Use and maintain hand and power tools, including trowels, levels, mallets and brick saws.
  • Confirm dimensional accuracy with levels, plumb lines and measuring tools.
  • Clean and point joints to achieve weatherproof, aesthetically finished surfaces.
  • Uphold workplace safety regulations and company policies, maintaining an orderly site.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and professionals from other trades for seamless delivery.
  • Assist with materials handling and work-area preparation in support of project timelines.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated experience as a Bricklayer on residential, commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • A current formal qualification, or completed apprenticeship, in bricklaying.
  • Strong command of bricklaying techniques and mortar composition.
  • Familiarity with various bonding patterns.
  • Proficient interpretation of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Competent, safe and effective with hand and power tools.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards and health and safety requirements relevant to Western Australia.
  • A current driver's licence for travel between project sites.
  • Physical fitness to perform demanding manual tasks across varying weather conditions.
  • Precision and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Desirable: exposure to custom construction, decorative brickwork or heritage masonry restoration.
  • Desirable: current First Aid certification and White Card (Construction Induction Card).
