Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing on vehicles and machinery
- Undertake repairs on the fleet and station equipment
- Attend to problems and callouts as they occur
- Operate machinery and tools in line with safe practice
- Supervise station staff and train them in daily checks and services
- Maintain records of parts used for reordering and hold stock of common parts
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualified in Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
- At least 2 years' experience in the trade
- Prior mechanic experience in a similar role
- Genuine passion for station life
- Competent and safe with diagnostic and test equipment across the company's fleet
- C Class driver's licence (essential)
- Motorcycle licence, HR or MC licence would be an advantage
- Efficient, safe and confident with tools and equipment
- Capable of working independently as well as in a team in a remote location
- Develops innovative solutions where parts or tools are not readily available
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability, good communication and a positive attitude would be an advantage, and fitness to work in high temperatures and high humidity
