Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, respectful nursing care individualised to every resident
  • Carry out health assessments and ongoing monitoring of residents
  • Respond promptly as residents' care needs change
  • Hold responsibility for coordinating and overseeing clinical care across the shifts assigned to you
  • Guide and lead care staff at ward level
  • Develop the team through mentoring and contribute to effective staff development
  • Partner with nurses, carers and other healthcare professionals
  • Document clinical care accurately and maintain relevant records
  • Follow appropriate aged care clinical practices and procedures, drawing on AN-ACC knowledge
  • Deliver palliative and end-of-life care to residents who require it
  • Uphold residents' dignity, comfort and quality of life
  • Communicate professionally with residents, families and colleagues while prioritising tasks and managing clinical responsibilities effectively
  • Help sustain high standards of care and service quality while working rotating morning, afternoon and night shifts

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA (current) and a recognised nursing qualification suitable for Australian practice
  • Demonstrated background in aged care or a comparable clinical environment, including palliative care experience or knowledge
  • Working knowledge of AN-ACC and demonstrated experience in leadership or team mentoring
  • Strong verbal and written communication combined with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Commitment to person-centred care and the ability to perform confidently both independently and as part of a team
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate and current Australian driver's licence
  • Capacity to obtain, or satisfy the requirements of, a National Police Check
  • International applicants must meet Australian nursing registration requirements and must satisfy applicable employer sponsorship and visa criteria
  • Willingness to work rotating rosters covering all shift types
