Key Responsibilities
- Lead person-centred, compassionate mental health care, delivering high-quality nursing and clinical practice
- Undertake comprehensive mental health and psychiatric assessments, then design, implement and evaluate individualised care plans
- Administer medications and treatments according to clinical guidelines, monitor patient progress and maintain precise clinical documentation
- Provide crisis intervention and therapeutic support
- Partner with psychiatrists, medical officers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams through case reviews, care planning and discharge planning
- Empower patients, families and carers through education and recovery planning
- Safeguard patients and uphold mental health legislation, clinical standards, professional standards, ethical practice and confidentiality
- Advance your own practice through continuous quality improvement initiatives, ongoing education and professional development
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification, with a postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing highly regarded
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, or eligibility to obtain registration
- A minimum of 2–3 years' experience in mental health nursing or mental health clinical practice
- In-depth knowledge of psychiatric assessment and mental health care principles, plus a sound understanding of relevant Australian mental health legislation and clinical practice standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving capability
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
- Willingness to relocate to Australia
