Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred care with respect and compassion, protecting each resident's privacy, dignity, cultural considerations and personal preferences
- Assist with personal care, including hygiene, showering, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Support mobility and transfers, including safe use of mobility equipment, and help with meals, hydration and feeding
- Provide companionship and emotional support while helping residents with their daily routines and meaningful activities
- Promote independence by encouraging residents to take part in daily activities
- Work to individual care plans and workplace procedures, including infection control, manual handling and safety requirements
- Identify and report shifts in residents' physical, emotional or behavioural wellbeing and maintain accurate notes, records and documentation
- Liaise effectively with nurses, carers, allied health professionals and families, contributing to a safe, supportive and respectful care environment
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualification in aged care, healthcare, nursing assistance or personal care relevant to the role
- Prior experience in aged care, residential care or disability support preferred
- Practical knowledge of person-centred care principles and the capacity to apply care plans, procedures and workplace standards
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a good level of English suited to workplace and resident communication
- A compassionate, reliable and professional work style
- Capacity to build respectful working relationships with residents and care teams
- Readiness to complete required police checks, screening and health assessments
- Flexibility across different shifts, including weekends when required
