Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients on haircut, colour and styling choices, covering men's grooming and beard-shaping as well
- Cut, trim, taper, shape and style hair with professional tools such as scissors, clippers and razors
- Perform men's grooming services, including wet shaves, hot towel treatments and moustache and beard trimming
- Shampoo, condition and treat hair and scalp
- Apply and remove colours, tints, highlights and bleach, and carry out chemical treatments for perming, relaxing or straightening
- Use blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons and styling products to create finished styles
- Advise clients on hair and scalp care, maintaining their hairstyle and the products best suited to them
- Keep all tools, equipment and work areas maintained, cleaned and sanitised to hygiene and health and safety standards
- Arrange appointments, manage schedules and process payments as required
- Recommend suitable products during and after each treatment
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in full-time work as a Hairdresser or Barber
- Proven technical skill in haircutting, colouring, styling and men's grooming
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with a strong customer service focus
- Proven ability to work efficiently and cooperatively within a team and sound knowledge of hygiene and safety practices in a salon setting
