Skilled welders aiming to broaden their trade capabilities will find a strong fit here. A busy trailer manufacturing operation has a permanent, full-time opening for an experienced MIG Welder whose real-world experience extends to trailer fitting, assembly and the installation of mechanical and electrical components.

The successful applicant will contribute to trailer production from structural fabrication through to final system checks, building well-rounded manufacturing expertise along the way. Accuracy, consistency and practical problem-solving are central to success in the role.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate trailers by preparing, positioning and assembling sections, then MIG welding steel frames, chassis and associated components
Review drawings, measurements and welding specifications before starting, using welding machines, hand tools and measuring equipment correctly
Fit chassis, suspension, braking and other trailer components and install air, electrical and hydraulic systems where required
Add accessories and customised features to trailers
Verify weld integrity, dimensions and assembly quality, and test installed systems prior to completion
Flag and report non-conforming materials, components or workmanship
Uphold safe, organised practices in the workshop
Work in coordination with the production team to sustain workflow
Deliver work that meets required quality, safety and production standards

Requirements & Eligibility

Ability to demonstrate genuine practical trade experience
At least 2 years' practical welding experience
A background in trailer assembly or trailer manufacturing
Strong MIG welding ability on steel
Comfortable interpreting and working from blueprints and technical drawings
Competence with workshop tools and measuring equipment
Practical understanding of trailer suspension, chassis and braking components
Experience in air, hydraulic or electrical trailer systems is advantageous
Strong attention to detail with consistent workmanship
A reliable approach to attendance and production duties, combined with a safety-conscious attitude in manufacturing
Welding certification is advantageous, though not essential
