Key Responsibilities
- Hold overall accountability for efficient daily warehouse operations
- Inspire and develop warehouse supervisors and team members
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and performance monitoring of warehouse staff
- Allocate daily labour and resources in line with orders, shipments and operational priorities
- Oversee inventory accuracy and scheduled stocktakes
- Measure DIFOT performance, KPIs, productivity and service delivery
- Optimise warehouse layouts for storage capacity and space utilisation
- Direct import container devanning and associated receiving
- Partner with Customs, freight companies, shipping providers and other logistics partners
- Fulfil MPI Facility Operator or Accredited Person responsibilities where required
- Sustain accurate digital workflows via WMS and integrated IT platforms
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, IT and other business functions, and oversee external suppliers and service providers
- Champion Health & Safety practices and a strong safety culture
- Drive practical operational improvements by identifying inefficiencies, and ensure facilities, equipment and resources are properly maintained
- Shape a culture of accountability, teamwork, reliability and continuous improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven background as a Warehouse Manager, Distribution Manager or senior warehouse professional
- Demonstrated leadership of warehouse teams and operational staff
- Strong command of inventory management, stock accuracy and warehouse planning
- Exposure to international freight, imports and container handling
- Understanding of MPI processes and New Zealand compliance requirements is advantageous
- In-depth knowledge of, and practical commitment to, workplace Health & Safety
- Excellent communication and people-management capability, with confident decision-making and problem-solving
- Capacity to manage pressure and competing priorities in a busy distribution environment
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to operational accuracy
- Good IT skills, including WMS or integrated warehouse systems, gained in paperless or technology-enabled environments
- Commercial awareness of productivity, resource allocation and operational costs
- Reliability, punctuality, professionalism and commitment to high standards
- Genuine evidence of qualifications, experience and professional history available for verification
- Must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment, immigration and sponsorship requirements
