Key Responsibilities

Greet guests and shape a warm, consistently professional dining experience, resolving requests courteously and escalating problems where needed
Keep food and beverage service moving efficiently through busy trading, and help run plates and drinks when it peaks
Capture each order precisely and brief the relevant teams on what is needed
Look after your allocated tables and section, holding service quality steady
Bring out meals and drinks without delay, safely carrying several plates at once
Lay tables ahead of each service, then clear and re-lay them between sittings
Process orders and payments on the POS with accuracy
Guide diners through the menu and drinks list, drawing on food, wine and beverage knowledge to lift their experience
Liaise with the kitchen, the bar and front-of-house colleagues
Keep the dining room tidy, orderly and well presented
Observe responsible service, workplace safety and hygiene procedures as an engaged member of a cooperative, high-performing team

Requirements & Eligibility

Demonstrated background in restaurant waitstaff or food and beverage service, along with a relevant hospitality qualification or equivalent industry experience
Proven performance in a busy, high-volume restaurant
A strong, customer-focused service mindset
Excellent spoken communication and interpersonal ability, including fluent English communication
Confidence managing multiple tables and sittings
Capable of carrying three plates safely
Current RSA Certificate, along with prior use of computerised POS systems
Wine and beverage knowledge will be highly regarded
Well-groomed, professional presentation
Reliable, honest and well-spoken, with sharp attention to detail
Composure when the pressure is on
Availability that flexes across weekdays, evenings and weekends, and a willingness to contribute to a professional team environment
