Joining a venue at launch can be a rewarding step in a hospitality career. A new gastropub in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty is building its opening team and recruiting three experienced Bartenders with proven practical skills and a customer-focused approach.

The positions suit professionals with demonstrable bar experience, a solid understanding of beverage service and the confidence to perform in a fast-paced hospitality setting. Your experience, practical knowledge and capacity for consistent service will underpin your success.

Key Responsibilities

Craft and present cocktails, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to venue standards and recipes, serving beer, wine and spirits with sound product knowledge
Provide professional, welcoming service, communicating confidently with customers and responding to their service requirements
Operate POS systems and process transactions accurately
Oversee beverage supplies, stock levels, rotation, ordering and inventory control
Uphold high cleanliness standards throughout the bar and service areas
Apply responsible alcohol service procedures in line with relevant New Zealand regulations
Complete opening and closing duties as required
Support cash handling and end-of-shift procedures
Collaborate effectively with colleagues through busy service periods

Requirements & Eligibility

Demonstrated hands-on expertise in cocktail preparation and beverage service, backed by working knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a professional bartender
Strong customer service and communication capability
Confidence operating in a busy hospitality environment
A reliable, professional work ethic
Availability for evening, weekend and public holiday shifts
Capacity to provide evidence of relevant employment experience where required
Applicants must satisfy the New Zealand immigration requirements that apply
Sponsorship available to eligible overseas applicants, subject to job check approval and immigration requirements
Candidates already in New Zealand may be considered for a Job Change or Variation of Conditions where applicable
Where an English test is required, applicants must meet current Immigration New Zealand requirements or hold an accepted exemption
