The employer is recruiting reliable Class 2 and Class 5 drivers with the right licence, practical capability and attitude. Based on licence and suitability, you may work in local delivery across the Auckland region or in line-haul, operating heavy combination vehicles between company sites, customers and distribution centres. The role extends beyond driving to loading and unloading freight, preparing vehicles and supporting the wider transport operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the business professionally on the road, communicating courteously with customers and colleagues
- Operate Class 2 or Class 5 heavy vehicles in a safe, responsible manner
- Carry out planned local delivery runs throughout Auckland
- Drive heavy truck-and-trailer units on line-haul routes where required
- Move products between operational sites, customers and distribution centres
- Meet delivery and collection schedules
- Secure, load and unload freight safely
- Get trucks and freight ready for the day's operations
- Perform routine vehicle and safety checks, reporting any vehicle, freight or operational issues without delay
- Complete the necessary delivery and transport documentation
- Comply with all company health, safety and operating procedures
- Work autonomously while contributing to the broader transport team
- Support other practical transport tasks as they arise
- Respond flexibly to changes in workload, routes and shift requirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current clean New Zealand Class 2 or Class 5 driver's licence, together with the ability to operate the relevant heavy vehicle safely
- Class 5 candidates must be capable of operating heavy combination vehicles
- Class 2 candidates must be capable of completing local delivery work
- Demonstrated safe heavy vehicle driving ability
- Previous heavy vehicle experience is preferred but not essential where candidates demonstrate the required capability
- Forklift licence: an advantage but not mandatory
- Strong commitment to safe driving and workplace safety, supported by reliable attendance and a dependable work ethic
- A positive, learning-oriented attitude with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity to work both independently and as a team member
- Willingness to take on physical transport-related duties
- Flexibility across varying shifts including night work, with availability Monday to Saturday according to the roster
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening successfully
- Ability to meet applicable New Zealand employment and visa requirements
