You will work on passenger vehicles and used vehicles in a modern workshop, taking responsibility for diagnostics, servicing, repairs and inspections as part of an experienced team.
The position provides stable Monday-to-Friday employment, access to ongoing technical training and opportunities to develop your skills, with potential for long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Take part in technical training to keep pace with emerging vehicle systems and repair methods, and support apprentices where required while collaborating with fellow technicians
- Pinpoint mechanical and electronic faults using professional diagnostic equipment, drawing on wiring diagrams, repair manuals and technical data
- Handle logbook and routine servicing, scheduled maintenance, pre-delivery inspections and applicable vehicle safety checks
- Undertake mechanical repair work on a broad range of passenger vehicles and brands
- Execute warranty work in line with manufacturer specifications
- Log completed repairs accurately in the workshop software
- Flag further repair needs and report findings clearly to the service team
- Adhere to the dealership's workshop processes, safety standards and manufacturer guidelines
- Keep the work bay clean, organised and efficient
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2–3 years in hands-on automotive roles relevant to this position
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or another recognised qualification at an equivalent level
- Motor Mechanic Trade Licence (valid)
- Proven hands-on track record in servicing, diagnostic and mechanical repair work, with the confidence to move between different vehicle brands and models
- Working familiarity with OEM procedures, wiring diagrams and automotive technical manuals, and competent use of diagnostic scan tools and workshop management systems
- Background in manufacturer warranty repair processes is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to precise workmanship, together with being reliable, punctual and effective as part of a team
- Valid Australian driver's licence (preferably covering manual vehicles)
- Capacity to evidence your relevant qualifications and employment history
