Key Responsibilities

Interpret technical drawings and project specifications ahead of each stonework task
Record precise measurements and estimate material quantities
Cut and shape stone, then polish and finish it to the project's requirements
Prepare stone components so they are ready for installation
Install benchtops and splashbacks
Fit other architectural features, as well as fireplaces, barbecues and custom stone applications
Review completed installations for alignment, measurement accuracy, finish and overall quality
Coordinate with other trades and installation teams on project requirements
Operate specialised stoneworking machinery and hand tools, maintaining all equipment in suitable working condition
Troubleshoot measurement, fabrication and installation issues as they arise
Apply workplace health and safety procedures through every phase of the work

Requirements & Eligibility

Demonstrated hands-on capability in stone fabrication and installation
A recognised stonemasonry qualification or formal trade training
A trade certificate in stonemasonry
A minimum of 3–5 years' relevant professional experience
Strong capability in interpreting specifications and technical drawings
Competence in operating professional stone cutting, shaping and finishing equipment
Proven precision with measurements and a high standard of finishing quality
Practical problem-solving ability across fabrication and installation environments
Capacity to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
Good physical capacity for handling and installing stone
A commitment to safe work practices and professional workmanship
Ability to provide supporting evidence of qualifications and relevant employment experience; visa sponsorship available for suitable candidates
