Key Responsibilities
- Review finished pieces and pinpoint anything that needs correcting or improving
- Sand and thoroughly prepare surfaces prior to coating
- Coat custom joinery and furniture pieces with polyurethane
- Stain timber and lay down clear protective topcoats
- Achieve uniform colour, coverage and surface finish across all projects
- Have finished pieces ready on time to suit the production timetable
- Coordinate job requirements with factory and operations personnel
- Work productively within the dedicated paint team
- Maintain a clean spray booth and organised workplace while handling finishing materials and equipment responsibly
- Observe the workshop's OH&S procedures and safety rules
- Keep workmanship consistently excellent from one project to the next
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional experience in the role of Spray Painter
- Hands-on expertise with polyurethane coatings
- A background finishing custom joinery, furniture or timber
- Thorough understanding of sanding and surface preparation
- Capacity to achieve consistent, professional-quality finishes
- A sharp eye for surface quality, colour and detail
- A reliable, punctual work ethic supported by good communication skills
- Comfortable working solo or within a small team
- Dedication to following quality and workplace safety procedures
- Australian working rights preferred
- Own transport preferred
- Capacity to prove relevant skills and experience by completing a practical trial
