Spray Painter and Panelbeater

An expanding automotive workshop in North Shore City, Auckland is adding skilled Panel Beaters and Spray Painters to its growing team, giving experienced tradespeople a chance to apply their skills in New Zealand.

The focus is on genuine workshop experience, proven technical ability and a consistent record of quality workmanship. Successful candidates will handle a variety of vehicles confidently and take full responsibility for completing work to a professional standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with race car preparation, events and track days when required
  • Perform professional panel beating and body repairs across different vehicle makes and models
  • Prepare damaged areas and surfaces, then complete spray painting and vehicle refinishing
  • Undertake rust repairs and related body restoration
  • Evaluate repair requirements and select appropriate repair techniques
  • Own allocated repair jobs from start to finish
  • Uphold high standards of finish and workmanship within a professional, organised work environment
  • Adhere to workshop procedures and workplace safety requirements
  • Work efficiently to meet agreed job deadlines
  • Operate confidently without constant supervision
  • Communicate effectively with fellow workshop team members
  • Support the team through periods of increased workload

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven experience as a Panel Beater or Spray Painter, with hands-on exposure to a variety of vehicle makes and models
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant professional experience
  • Practical rust repair experience (Panel Beater applicants)
  • Capability to complete repair work independently, from start to finish
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes
  • Capacity to demonstrate genuine and verifiable work experience
  • A reliable, self-motivated approach to work, combined with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Capacity to work effectively in a multicultural team
  • Good spoken English is essential
  • Holding NZ residency or an existing NZ work visa is advantageous
  • Applications from international candidates are welcome, with sponsorship available for suitable international candidates
  • Minimum availability of 30 hours per week, plus flexibility to work Saturdays during busy periods when required
