Senior stylists seeking their next professional move in New Zealand can join a growing salon that is recruiting 2 Senior Hairdressers.
The position rewards strong technical skill and client confidence, offering exposure to a broad range of cutting, colouring and styling services within a supportive, professional team. There is also scope to mentor junior team members and take part in workshops and training, which helps build a long-term career in the industry. Experienced hairdressers from India and other countries are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality ladies’ and children’s haircuts, blow waves and finished styles
- Perform global colour and regrowth applications as well as foils, highlights and balayage
- Carry out colour correction and toning, along with smoothing services and hair treatments
- Consult with clients to understand individual hair requirements and recommend appropriate treatments and haircare products
- Maintain strong service and technical standards in every appointment
- Build positive client relationships and manage services confidently with minimal supervision
- Contribute to the development and mentoring of junior team members, including workshops, demonstrations and practical training where required
- Keep the working environment professional, organised and clean
- Adhere to salon procedures, hygiene requirements and workplace standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised hairdressing qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 or higher
- Minimum 2 years of professional industry experience
- Strong practical capability in cutting, colouring, foiling and styling
- Experience in balayage, highlights, toning and colour correction
- Confidence working independently within a professional salon
- Strong communication and client consultation abilities, backed by excellent customer service skills
- A committed, professional and reliable work approach
- Weekend availability when required
- Beauty therapy skills or previous beauty industry experience is advantageous
- Experience mentoring junior stylists or delivering practical training is advantageous
- Ability to set out clearly the services you perform confidently, and to disclose those where additional training or development may be required
- Willingness to meet New Zealand employment and visa requirements
