It is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy hospitality business, with long-term career development on offer.

The role calls for strong leadership and business management skills. You will drive store performance, lead and develop staff, uphold high customer service standards, oversee inventory and financial performance, and ensure compliance with workplace and food safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse sales reports, monitor sales performance and profitability, and implement strategies that lift revenue and operational efficiency
  • Manage day-to-day business operations and lead daily store activities
  • Control labour costs and operating expenses through well-managed staff rosters
  • Recruit, onboard and train new employees, and provide coaching, mentoring and performance management
  • Uphold high customer service standards and resolve customer enquiries and complaints professionally
  • Oversee inventory levels, stock purchasing and regular stocktakes while minimising wastage
  • Cultivate productive supplier relationships
  • Safeguard consistency in food quality, presentation and service
  • Uphold workplace health and safety standards
  • Ensure the business meets food safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain precise business and operational records
  • Contribute to sustained business growth and team development

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as a Retail Manager, Café Manager or in a similar hospitality management role, along with experience managing a high-volume hospitality or retail operation
  • Track record supervising and leading a team of 10 or more employees, including rostering and labour cost management
  • Experience in inventory control and purchasing, backed by strong financial management and sales analysis skills
  • Excellent leadership and people management capabilities
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Sound problem-solving and business decision-making ability
  • Experience with POS systems and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Availability for weekends, evenings and public holidays
  • A relevant qualification in Hospitality, Business or Management is advantageous
  • A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is desirable, and a First Aid Certificate is also desirable
  • Hospitality POS systems experience is an advantage, and opening new stores or managing multiple locations is advantageous
