Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the kitchen so the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently
- Drive front-of-house performance, holding every shift to a consistently high standard
- Model attentive, refined and professional guest service while leading actively on the floor
- Look after reservations, table plans and individual guest preferences
- Arrange VIP requirements and accommodate special requests
- Keep communication with diners strong from arrival through to departure
- Brief staff ahead of each service on the priorities for the day
- Develop front-of-house staff through training, coaching and mentoring
- Plan weekly rosters around seasonal demand, events, bookings and other operational needs, tracking labour performance as part of workforce planning
- Control beverage and front-of-house inventory and purchasing, keeping breakage, wastage and stock usage in check to manage costs responsibly
- Keep operational systems up to date, feed accurate figures into daily reports and pinpoint where guest satisfaction, efficiency and service consistency can improve
- Uphold hygiene, food safety, responsible service and workplace health and safety standards
- Make sure the venue meets its own procedures, its licensing obligations and all applicable regulations
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager, Maître d' or senior front-of-house leader, with a strong grounding in fine dining, premium restaurants or comparable high-standard hospitality settings
- Experience in hospitality internationally is highly desirable
- A proven track record of building and leading front-of-house teams
- Sound knowledge of cost management, stock control, labour planning and wider restaurant operations
- Confidence discussing wine, including presenting or explaining international selections; a WSET qualification is required as a minimum
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional European language skills will be advantageous
- Composure and professionalism in both guest service and team leadership
- Meticulous attention to detail and dedication to premium hospitality standards
- Capacity to supply evidence of relevant work history, qualifications and professional experience for verification purposes
