Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate food preparation, ingredient handling and kitchen workflow
  • Oversee stock levels and ordering processes to minimise food wastage
  • Uphold strict food safety, hygiene and compliance practices
  • Develop the kitchen team through effective leadership, guidance and training
  • Assess completed dishes against presentation and quality expectations
  • Manage food cost control, portion sizes and overall kitchen efficiency
  • Keep kitchen equipment properly maintained
  • Maintain clean, organised work areas
  • Model reliability, professionalism and a strong commitment to hospitality excellence

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Recognised culinary qualification or relevant professional chef training
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience within a restaurant or commercial kitchen setting
  • Proven capability to manage food preparation while delivering consistent service standards
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene procedures and kitchen compliance
  • Experience supervising, training or supporting fellow kitchen staff
  • Effectiveness in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • A team-focused approach
  • Creativity across food preparation, presentation and menu development
  • Solid understanding of food costing, inventory control and kitchen operations
  • A proven work history with verifiable culinary skills and professional experience
