A growing construction team in Queensland (QLD) is recruiting an accomplished Senior Project Engineer to take ownership of project coordination, provide sound technical guidance and contribute to the successful delivery of complex civil construction works. Selection considers qualifications, engineering background, project exposure and overall suitability.

This permanent role runs on a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster and offers a competitive package comprising base salary, superannuation, project uplift, a work vehicle and a KPI bonus, a strong platform for engineers from India and abroad.

Key Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate engineering activity across major civil construction projects
Partner with the Project Manager to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to agreed timeframes
Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, budgets and project requirements, and coordinate construction sequencing in line with approved programs
Develop, track and revise project plans, programs and construction schedules
Act as a source of technical and engineering advice for project teams and site personnel
Interpret and review civil, structural and services drawings, identifying technical issues and resolving technical queries
Support procurement and engagement of subcontractors and suppliers, monitoring their performance, costs and deliverables
Oversee quality requirements and ensure appropriate quality control procedures are applied
Contribute to cost management and budget monitoring, preparing monthly financial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
Pinpoint project risks, construction issues and potential delays
Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and wider stakeholders
Promote and uphold strong safety standards across every project activity

Requirements & Eligibility

Strong commercial awareness and project management acumen
Civil Engineering Degree or comparable qualification
Minimum 7 years' engineering experience across civil infrastructure or construction
Demonstrated involvement in delivering major civil projects
Strong grasp of civil construction methodologies
Confidence interpreting civil, structural and services drawings
Track record of managing technical queries and resolving engineering issues
Sound knowledge of planning, scheduling and sequencing in construction
Experience in managing budgets for subcontractors and suppliers
Working understanding of quality assurance and quality control systems
Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability
Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
Ability to work a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
Relevant Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship, which is available for suitably qualified and experienced candidates
