Production Team Member/Supervisor

For professionals with a food manufacturing background, this role offers direct influence over daily output at a growing New Zealand operation. The company is recruiting a Food Production Supervisor / Operator to own the production floor and ensure each batch meets required standards.
The position blends supervision with hands-on work across ingredient preparation, batching, machinery operation, quality checks, cleaning and production coordination in a small team. Accountability for production targets, food safety, quality and team support makes it a strong step toward broader production leadership, and candidates from India and elsewhere with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily production schedule, allocate tasks and ensure manufacturing activities are completed safely, efficiently and to schedule
- Weigh, measure and check ingredients accurately, then prepare batches and manufacture products in line with approved recipes
- Operate fillers, mixers and other food manufacturing equipment while monitoring processes and machinery for smooth operation
- Maintain consistent product quality, completing quality checks and identifying production issues promptly
- Uphold Good Manufacturing Practice and food safety requirements, along with accurate recipe controls and production processes
- Carry out sanitation, cleaning and daily equipment washdowns, keeping production areas compliant, organised and clean
- Monitor daily production targets and contribute to improved operational efficiency
- Train and support production team members
- Partner with the Production Manager to resolve operational issues
- Ensure orders and production requirements are fulfilled accurately and on time
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, report hazards or issues and provide hands-on support across production activities when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven background in food manufacturing or commercial food production
- Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Production Operator or in a similar capacity
- Experience working within an approved food control plan environment
- Strong knowledge of hygiene, quality and food safety requirements
- Hands-on operation of food manufacturing machinery, with experience on fillers, mixers or comparable production equipment
- Ability to follow manufacturing procedures, measurements and recipes accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent products
- Ability to lead and support a small production team
- Comfort in a hands-on production setting and the ability to meet daily production targets efficiently
- Reliable, hardworking and physically capable of performing production and cleaning duties
- Willingness to undertake repetitive tasks and washdown responsibilities
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to learn new production systems and machinery quickly, and commitment to a clean and safe working environment
- Current forklift licence is advantageous
- Sponsorship is available for a suitably qualified overseas candidate
