Key Responsibilities

Analyse production data through farm management systems, review results and take corrective action where required
Manage the end-to-end broiler production cycle, from placement through to collection
Lead and coordinate the farm team, including building rosters and assigning responsibilities to meet daily production requirements
Oversee bird health, welfare, growth and flock performance, along with feeding, watering, ventilation and environmental conditions
Uphold effective farm-wide biosecurity procedures
Apply animal welfare and workplace health and safety standards consistently
Plan shed preparation, cleaning and turnaround activities
Supervise upkeep of feeding, drinking, ventilation and generator systems, identifying equipment and operational issues and arranging appropriate maintenance
Ensure farm, production and compliance records are accurate
Collaborate with veterinarians, technical specialists and processor representatives, and provide clear updates and performance reports to senior management
Participate in after-hours and on-call responsibilities
Contribute to continuous improvement across farm operations

Requirements & Eligibility

Background in commercial broiler poultry
Previous experience as a Poultry Farm Manager or experienced 2IC
Demonstrated capability to supervise and lead a farm team
Strong practical grasp of poultry production and flock management
Knowledge of ventilation and climate-control systems
Sound understanding of poultry biosecurity and welfare requirements
Capacity to interpret production data and reach practical operational decisions
Good communication, organisation and record-keeping skills
Ability to use computers and relevant farm management systems
Reliable and calm when handling operational challenges
Current driver’s licence, willingness to live on site and availability for an after-hours and on-call roster
Genuine commitment to animal welfare, workplace safety and production standards
