Key Responsibilities
- Go through each job sheet and confirm the correct repair method before any work starts
- Work out what every vehicle needs ahead of commencing the repair
- Carry out collision and panel work with precision and professionalism
- Test-fit new parts and check that they sit correctly
- Flag parts that are missing, wrong or additionally needed
- Apply approved repair methods and workplace instructions, escalating questions to management whenever more guidance is needed
- Finish every allocated repair before a vehicle moves to painting
- Tag removed parts with the relevant job number and keep them clearly identified and neatly stored
- Ready repaired components and parts for handover to the Paint Department
- Complete final reassembly checks on each vehicle, including headlight positioning and any other needed adjustments
- Check finished repairs for safety and quality, then sign off once those checks are complete
- Keep jobs moving efficiently without compromising expected repair standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade Certificate at an equivalent Level 3 or Level 4 standard, or at least 3 years in a relevant technician role, together with demonstrated practical work in panel beating or vehicle repair
- Capable of interpreting job sheets and working to repair procedures
- Can complete technical tasks independently, without constant supervision
- Dedication to accurate, safe, high-quality repairs and high attention to detail
- A collaborative style within a workshop team
- Full clean driving licence
- Good communication and organisational capability
- Current New Zealand residency or a valid applicable work visa
- Dedication to ongoing technical training and professional development; sponsorship available for the right candidate
