Motorcycle Mechanic

Motorcycle technicians aiming to deepen their specialist skills should consider this opening with a well-established dealership in Queensland. The business is recruiting a Motorcycle Mechanic with demonstrated capability in diagnosing, servicing and repairing motorcycles.

Your scope will span servicing, fault diagnosis, mechanical repairs and post-repair testing, all carried out to professional workshop and safety standards. The dealership wants a hands-on technician who applies trade knowledge confidently, works to technical procedures and achieves consistent repair outcomes.

Practical experience, a solid trade background and genuine motorcycle mechanical expertise will be central to your progress in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured inspections to identify faults, wear and maintenance needs, and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults with appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Deliver servicing and preventative maintenance aligned with manufacturer requirements, including engine servicing, oil changes, lubrication and tune-ups
  • Disassemble, examine and reassemble engines and mechanical assemblies on motorcycles
  • Repair or replace faulty and worn mechanical components, including braking, suspension, steering and transmission systems
  • Apply technical manuals and manufacturer procedures throughout each repair
  • Carry out post-repair testing and adjustments to verify motorcycle performance
  • Determine repair requirements and communicate technical information to the relevant people
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed repairs, servicing and parts used, while keeping workshop activity organised and compliant with workplace safety requirements
  • Support urgent mechanical repairs and breakdown-related work as required

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A demonstrated, hands-on record of servicing and repairing motorcycles
  • Minimum two years' relevant industry experience
  • Qualification in Motorcycle Mechanical Technology, or an equivalent trade qualification, relevant to the role
  • Well-developed mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding capability
  • Technical knowledge of motorcycle engine, electrical, braking, suspension, steering and transmission systems
  • Competence operating motorcycle diagnostic and workshop equipment, and interpreting technical manuals and manufacturer specifications
  • A demonstrated commitment to accurate, high-quality workmanship
  • Capacity to provide supporting evidence of relevant qualifications and employment experience
  • Thorough understanding of workshop safety procedures
  • Effectiveness working both independently and as part of a professional team
