Experienced fabrication professionals can grow their trade career in Western Australia through this full-time Metal Fabricator (Boilermaker Welder) role with an established industrial engineering and maintenance organisation.
The position is broad and hands-on, spanning metal fabrication, welding, assembly, repairs and maintenance. Workshop duties are balanced with field-based assignments, including site maintenance and breakdown response, giving you exposure to a wide range of industrial work.
For skilled tradespeople from India and elsewhere, it is a chance to apply and extend proven technical skills in a demanding industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate engineering drawings, plans and specifications into accurate set-outs and measurements
- Prepare structural and mechanical stock by cutting it, then bending and shaping the metal parts
- Build, weld and assemble parts and structures, applying the associated fabrication techniques
- Carry out repairs and modifications on plant and equipment
- Contribute to upkeep of fixed plant and mobile plant
- Respond to breakdowns with corrective repair work
- Deliver fabrication tasks across both workshop and site settings
- Quality-check finished parts for accuracy and compliance with the specifications and standards required
- Use workshop machines and fabrication tools competently
- Look after routine servicing of machinery
- Uphold safe work procedures and site rules while keeping a professional, orderly work area
Requirements & Eligibility
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate III, or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years full-time experience in Metal Fabrication, including proven Boilermaker/Welder experience
- Strong capabilities across fabrication and welding
- Competence in reading engineering drawings
- National Police Certificate
- Successful completion of the pre-employment medical assessment and drug and alcohol screening
- Construction White Card plus a valid Australian Driver Licence
- Working at Heights certification obtained within the past 2 years
- Confined Space certification obtained within the past 2 years
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or relevant work rights, with sponsorship available for suitable overseas applicants
