Mechanical / HVAC Site Manager

Taking charge of site delivery on large-scale HVAC and mechanical construction is a significant step for anyone building a career in building services. Based in Western Australia, this position is ideal for experienced professionals from Australia, New Zealand or the UK whose background includes delivering such projects.

The focus is overseeing substantial D&C HVAC packages on site, in close partnership with project teams, with safety, quality and timeliness as the measures of success.

Exposure is broad: major healthcare, defence, government, education, aviation, hospitality, data centre and commercial developments all feature in the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end daily site delivery of HVAC installation, ensuring labour, materials and site resources are deployed effectively
Lead mechanical trades and subcontractors and keep their activities aligned
Track progress so the works meet agreed construction programmes
Oversee installation quality, correct problems as they arise and uphold rigorous safety and compliance standards
Translate HVAC drawings, specifications and technical requirements into site work
Partner with Project Managers and engineering teams while acting as the link to builders, consultants and wider stakeholders
Troubleshoot construction, installation and technical challenges
Support the management of variations and project changes

Requirements & Eligibility

Minimum 4 years' HVAC or mechanical construction experience, built up in Australia, New Zealand or the UK
Exposure to large commercial HVAC or mechanical services projects; Tier 1 construction experience strongly preferred
Deep technical understanding of HVAC systems and installation, with the ability to interpret and apply drawings and specifications
Extensive industry experience, or a relevant engineering or trade qualification
Capability in leading teams and managing subcontractors
Highly effective communicator, skilled in stakeholder management
