Key Responsibilities
- Share technical knowledge to support the development of fellow team members
- Provide technical guidance and practical engineering support to project teams
- Lead and contribute to mechanical engineering design for building and infrastructure projects
- Prepare detailed mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, reports and associated documentation
- Steer engineering assignments through design, coordination, delivery and completion
- Deliver across diverse sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial and other developments
- Assess engineering requirements and formulate effective technical solutions
- Coordinate mechanical services alongside architectural, structural, electrical and other project disciplines
- Partner with clients and project stakeholders to understand requirements and achieve appropriate engineering outcomes
- Review technical deliverables for accuracy, quality, safety and compliance, and track deadlines, technical requirements and overall project quality
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, site inspections and coordination sessions as required
- Cultivate long-term relationships with clients and professional stakeholders
- Support business development by helping identify new project opportunities
- Apply professional engineering standards to all project work, remaining current with engineering practice and supporting continuous improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent
- Substantial professional background gained in engineering consultancy, industrial engineering or mechanical building services work
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects from design to completion
- Strong command of the principles and design practices of mechanical engineering
- Proven technical, analytical and problem-solving capability
- Experience managing projects of differing scope, complexity and delivery requirements
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to work effectively with clients, project stakeholders and a collaborative professional team
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships
- Capacity to manage competing priorities and deliver to agreed deadlines
- Strong commitment to engineering quality, safety, compliance and practical outcomes, together with commercial awareness and an interest in developing client and business opportunities
- Chartered Professional Engineer status or active progress toward chartership is advantageous
- Openness to having qualifications, employment history, professional experience and relevant credentials checked and verified
