Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture precision metal components to specification and check finished work for accuracy and quality
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and machining requirements, and determine suitable tooling, materials and processes
- Configure and run CNC lathes and CNC machining centres
- Write CNC programs to suit the requirements of each job
- Run Okuma or equivalent CNC machines
- Use One-Touch programming as jobs require
- Work on manual lathes and conventional machine tools
- Diagnose and resolve machining or equipment issues
- Handle routine machine upkeep and workshop housekeeping
- Uphold safe, organised workshop practices and established quality and production procedures
- Deliver work efficiently against production schedules and project needs
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised trade qualification in Metal Machining or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of machining work post-trade
- Strong practical background in CNC machining
- Hands-on capability running CNC lathes and machining centres
- Highly desirable: Okuma experience
- Advantageous: One-Touch programming experience
- Confidence interpreting and working from technical drawings
- Capacity to evidence a genuine and verifiable employment and trade record
- Strong commitment to precision and quality
- Forklift LF Class licence preferred
- Australian Driver's Licence preferred
- Ability to complete pre-employment medical requirements and drug and alcohol screening
- Full Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
