Junior Accountant

This is a strong career-building opportunity for a motivated Accountant / Bookkeeper to join a well-established agribusiness in Western Australia. It suits an experienced finance professional, or a junior accountant seeking a long-term pathway within a supportive and growing business.
Partnering with senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in day-to-day financial operations across multiple business entities, gaining broad exposure to receivables, payroll, tax reporting and month-end processes. Key Responsibilities
- Own the receivables function end to end: raising invoices, allocating payments and managing debtors
- Action credits, rebates and claims lodged by customers
- Match and reconcile customer ledgers and intercompany transactions
- Keep watch on unpaid balances, pursue late payments, and compile aged receivables reports and collection forecasts
- Contribute to verifying customer accounts against compliance requirements
- Look after payroll journals and the associated records
- Produce BAS, IAS and PAYG reporting, or assist with it as needed
- Post general ledger entries and journals, and keep the fixed asset register current
- Close off month-end and year-end reconciliations
- Contribute to the preparation of financial and management reporting
- Help track and forecast cash flow
- Keep financial data precise in the accounting software for each of the multiple business entities
- Uphold accounting standards and company policies in all work
- Support senior finance colleagues with reporting and financial analysis
- Take part in finance meetings and turn around ad hoc reports
Requirements & Eligibility
- Diploma-level or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Minimum three years of professional experience spanning bookkeeping, accounts or accounting work
- Strong grasp of payables, receivables and reconciliation processes
- Hands-on payroll processing experience alongside Australian tax compliance
- An understanding of IFRS and/or Australian Accounting Standards
- Strong capability in Microsoft Excel, covering formulas, lookups and pivot tables
- Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail, with the capacity to balance competing priorities and deliver on deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Studies towards CPA or CA are highly regarded
- Exposure to a business with multiple entities is desirable
- Familiarity with accounting packages such as NetSuite or Reckon is advantageous
