Key Responsibilities

  • Executing abrasive blasting and preparing surfaces on a range of industrial products to the required specifications
  • Confirming prepared surfaces are suitable, then applying epoxy, urethane and other protective coating systems with even coverage and finish
  • Configuring and operating blast pots, compressors, spray equipment and associated tools correctly
  • Detecting surface, coating or equipment issues and escalating them appropriately
  • Carrying out cleaning, maintenance and inspection of blasting and coating equipment
  • Meeting quality standards and project timeframes through accurate, consistent work practices
  • Complying with safety procedures, industry requirements and Australian Standards while keeping the work area clean, organised and safe
  • Collaborating with supervisors and other trades
  • Undertaking occasional night or weekend work when required, attracting penalty rates

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years' genuine, practical abrasive blasting experience
  • Track record in industrial blasting and protective coating work
  • Proven competence in quality surface preparation
  • Hands-on practice in applying industrial protective coatings
  • Thorough grasp of blasting, preparation and coating processes
  • Trade experience that can be demonstrated and verified
  • Keen attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • An ongoing commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Dependable work ethic and a professional manner
  • Capacity to work independently while contributing to a team
  • Physical fitness for demanding industrial work
  • Highly regarded credentials: Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application, as well as AMPP/NACE or other recognised protective coatings qualifications
  • Forklift licence and White Card holders are highly regarded
  • Meeting relevant employment and compliance requirements is a must for all applicants
