Key Responsibilities
- Handle scheduled servicing, preventative upkeep and safety inspections for heavy diesel vehicles
- Undertake mechanical repair and upkeep work on trucks, trailers and other heavy units, plus warranty jobs as they arise
- Pinpoint complex faults in mechanical, electrical and electronic systems with the aid of workshop diagnostic equipment and tools
- Establish the root cause behind each fault and advise on the appropriate fix
- Overhaul or swap out mechanical and electrical components
- Run post-repair tests on vehicles and equipment, confirming each job meets technical specifications
- Document all completed work accurately
- Comply with workshop safety protocols and requirements
- Assist colleagues across the workshop as needed
- Keep the workshop to a high standard of cleanliness
- Engage in technical training programs that keep your skills current
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Mechanical Technology or equivalent, backed by at least 5 years of practical heavy diesel mechanical experience
- A demonstrated background in the servicing and repair of trucks and heavy vehicles
- Advanced fault-finding and troubleshooting ability, built on a strong understanding of heavy vehicle mechanical systems
- Exposure to multiple heavy vehicle brands is desirable
- Previous truck and trailer repair work is highly regarded
- Equally effective working solo or as part of a team
- Meticulous attention to detail and a firm commitment to quality output
- A strong safety mindset, together with sound communication and problem-solving skills
- HC Licence is desirable
- Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is desirable
- Suitable applicants may be eligible for visa sponsorship
