Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day running of the kitchen and pre-service set-up, coordinating the brigade and coaching staff on prep, cooking and kitchen procedures
  • Produce authentic Singaporean and Malaysian dishes to a dependable commercial standard
  • Bring strong practical expertise to curries, sauces, noodle and rice dishes and wok work
  • Safeguard consistency in taste, plating and portioning
  • Schedule prep in line with anticipated service demand
  • Feed practical suggestions into menu development and new dish creation
  • Assess ingredient quality and confirm that the correct preparation methods are applied
  • Oversee purchasing, deliveries, storage and stock rotation, tracking usage, portion sizes, costs and wastage
  • Foster clear communication between the kitchen and the service team
  • Oversee food safety, hygiene, temperature control and allergen management, and ensure takeaway orders leave accurate and on time
  • Keep equipment well maintained and safely operated, resolving any operational or equipment issues that arise
  • Uphold a clean, orderly and professional kitchen

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated professional background as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior chef, including previous experience leading, supervising or training kitchen staff
  • Strong practical expertise in Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine, with proven capability across curries, sauces, noodles, rice dishes and wok cooking
  • Commercial kitchen background in a busy restaurant, takeaway or quick-service operation
  • Demonstrated capacity to sustain consistent food quality at peak service
  • Strong hands-on kitchen management and organisational capability
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards applying to commercial kitchens
  • Experience in food costing, wastage control and stock management, along with effective communication with kitchen and service teams
  • Relevant commercial cookery qualifications are desirable
  • Capacity to provide genuine evidence of professional experience and qualifications
  • Availability for full-time work, including weekends and public holidays as required; candidates must satisfy applicable requirements for employer sponsorship and visa eligibility
