Key Responsibilities
- Head the kitchen brigade with assurance, optimism and a professional manner, coaching, guiding and backing every team member
- Build a kitchen culture that is upbeat, safe and cooperative
- Design menus around produce in season and the tastes of residents, catering to each person's dietary and nutritional needs
- Produce flavourful, nourishing and balanced meals, plated to a consistently high standard
- Turn every mealtime into an enjoyable dining experience for residents
- Uphold excellent food safety and hygiene in the kitchen, in line with the compliance obligations that apply
- Handle food ordering and the needs of suppliers
- Keep stock levels in view and minimise avoidable waste
- Oversee kitchen spending against budget
Requirements & Eligibility
- Experience in a Head Chef role or a senior culinary leadership position
- Recognised qualification in Commercial Cookery, with Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, supported by a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Experience in menu development and the management of dietary requirements
- Excellent leadership and people management capability
- Strong communication and planning abilities
- Experience in managing kitchen costs and stock
- A passion for exceptional food and service, combined with a caring and respectful approach to residents
- Ability to complete a medical assessment, background checks, and Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check requirements
