The position is hands-on, covering workshop jobs as well as field servicing. Here, reliability and technical expertise directly support farming operations, and machinery needs dependable maintenance across demanding planting and harvest periods.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics: use modern diagnostic equipment and electronic scan tools to pinpoint mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults
Systems repair: troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions and driveline systems, along with hydraulic and electrical systems
Machinery care: service, maintain and repair agricultural diesel machinery such as tractors, harvesters, headers, sprayers, seeders and other farm equipment
Reliability: deliver preventative maintenance and inspect machines to identify developing faults before they cause major downtime
Field support: respond to breakdowns, complete field repairs during busy farming periods and take on seasonal on-call requirements where necessary
Workshop output: complete workshop and field-based repairs efficiently, fabricating, modifying and adapting components as needed
Documentation: keep accurate maintenance and service records
Compliance and communication: follow safety, environmental and quality procedures and communicate clearly with colleagues, customers and stakeholders
Seasonal readiness: help keep machinery prepared through planting and harvest seasons

Requirements & Eligibility

Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diagnostic skills for fault-finding
Holder of a recognised trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Mobile Plant Technology or an equivalent discipline
A minimum 5 years of mechanical experience post-trade
Demonstrated experience with agricultural machinery is essential
Practical, hands-on background with tractors, combines, headers, sprayers or related farm equipment
Experience on broadacre cropping, livestock or mixed-farming machinery is highly regarded
Able to identify faults and complete repairs independently, and comfortable in both workshop and outdoor rural environments
Fluent English communication skills (essential)
Current driver's licence; HR licence advantageous
Strong work ethic, reliability and professionalism, with the ability to provide evidence of qualifications and relevant employment experience
Candidates must be able to meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements; 482 visa sponsorship is available to eligible overseas candidates
