For an experienced Electrician, FIFO project work is a strong way to broaden your technical range. This position calls for someone who can operate with little supervision, respond as conditions change and turn out safe, high-quality electrical work across many different jobs.
Working a 2:1 roster with accommodation and meals provided, you will join a practical team supporting construction and infrastructure activity, collaborating with other trades so projects progress safely and efficiently.
Exposure to mining, civil and heavy industry settings can add real depth to a long-term career, whether your experience was gained in India or elsewhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to electrical works in mining, civil and heavy industry environments
- Carry out electrical installations on remote construction projects
- Perform ongoing electrical maintenance on those same remote projects
- Install and maintain HV and LV cabling
- Complete terminations on switchboards and MCCs
- Install motors
- Set up lighting and power systems
- Fit steel conduits and earthing systems
- Diagnose electrical faults and put them right
- Liaise with fitters, plumbers and civil teams wherever activities overlap
- Respond flexibly to changing work priorities and remote site conditions
- Uphold safe work practices and quality benchmarks
- Help deliver project milestones through dependable teamwork and clear communication
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current electrical licence appropriate to the role
- Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification
- Verified, relevant experience in construction, mining, civil or heavy industry
- Experience carrying out work safely in remote or project-based environments, with demonstrated capability across varied electrical tasks
- Current First Aid and CPR
- UETDRRF004 – Perform rescue from a live LV panel
- Nationally Recognised Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Capacity to commit to a 2:1 FIFO roster
- Strong communication and teamwork, combined with a reliable and adaptable approach to site work
- Willingness to complete required pre-employment checks
- Highly desirable: Refrigeration tickets
- Advantageous: Certificate IV in Instrumentation
- Advantageous: Fibre endorsements
- Advantageous: ACMA accreditation
- Advantageous: Certificate II in Split Air-conditioning and Heat Pump Systems
