Electrician

This is a career step for seasoned electricians with recognised New Zealand electrical certification who want a structured assessment of their credentials, background and practical capability, followed by placement into openings that suit them in a different work setting.

Assignments on offer may span industrial maintenance, large-scale shutdowns and project-based electrical work, giving exposure to a range of industry settings.

Applicants are assessed on verified trade credentials, prior industry experience and the working arrangement they favour, and can choose between relocation and FIFO.

Key Responsibilities

Use schematics, electrical drawings and technical documents to plan each task
Complete electrical installation work
Undertake maintenance and repair of electrical systems
Examine systems, equipment and facilities to detect defects and faults
Identify the cause of electrical faults and put suitable corrective work in place
Conduct electrical testing and inspections when required
Keep precise job records along with compliance documentation
Work in line with site-specific electrical procedures and safe practices
Liaise with supervisors, project groups and fellow trades
Deliver allocated maintenance, shutdown and project work to the expected standard
Contribute to the reliability and compliance of electrical systems

Requirements & Eligibility

Recognised New Zealand Electrical Certification, backed by a proven record as a qualified electrician
Relevant industrial, infrastructure or mining background and demonstrated practical capability in electrical maintenance and fault-finding
A sound grasp of electrical safety, compliance and site procedures
Capability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical information
Willingness to be based in Queensland or Western Australia and to take on FIFO shutdown work in Western Australia where applicable
Australian working rights or eligibility for an Australian work visa
Applicants requiring visa sponsorship may be considered
Candidates must be able to supply evidence of their qualifications and relevant experience
