Electrical Linesman and crane/borer oprator

Australia’s electrical infrastructure sector is looking for experienced powerline professionals ready to apply their practical expertise on a larger stage.
Positions in New South Wales include Distribution Linesmen, Transmission Linesmen, Transmission TAs and Crane Borer Operators. Candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate and verify their background in overhead distribution, transmission, pole construction, stringing, structural work or plant operation.
Overseas applicants are supported as well. Where required, further training can be arranged to align existing qualifications with Australian standards, a useful step for tradespeople from India and elsewhere who want a long-term career in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver overhead electrical distribution construction work
- Replace, stand and dress power poles
- Install and maintain overhead network infrastructure
- Carry out stringing of mains and conductors
- Contribute to transmission line construction, including tower construction and erection
- Erect and dress transmission poles and H structures
- Climb electrical transmission structures
- Execute conductor stringing activities
- Interpret network drawings and line diagrams
- Conduct inspections of electrical transmission assets
- Assess hazards and resolve problems as they arise
- Undertake ancillary and supporting linework
- Operate crane/boring plant subject to authorisation
- Adhere to safety and quality procedures
- Collaborate productively with crews and site teams
- Travel between project sites, complete occasional away-from-home assignments and work overtime when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrable practical experience in overhead electrical work
- Relevant experience in distribution or transmission linework
- Capacity to demonstrate your technical skills and work history
- Construction White Card and driver’s licence
- Strong problem-solving capability in the workplace
- A dependable, team-oriented approach
- Capacity to work safely in changing environments
- Willingness to travel for projects and to undertake short-term away work
- Certificate III ESI in Transmission and Distribution Overhead is preferred
- Work at Heights is preferred
- CPR is preferred
- Dogging is preferred
- Rigging is preferred
- High Risk Work Licence is preferred
- Relevant overseas qualifications will be considered
- Capacity to undertake further Australian-recognised training where required
