Electrical Estimator & Industrial Electrician

This is a chance for electrical professionals to strengthen their careers on technically diverse commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. A well-established electrical engineering and contracting business is expanding its team in Victoria and is recruiting both Electrical Estimators and Industrial Electricians.

Estimators will own pricing and tender work from the first drawing review through to handover, while Industrial Electricians will install, test, commission and maintain industrial systems. Both positions suit experienced people ready to take the next step. Skilled candidates from India and other countries with relevant experience are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Estimator: develop detailed project estimates and tender pricing, highlighting potential risks, exclusions and cost-saving opportunities
Electrical Estimator: assess drawings, specifications, scopes and technical documentation for each project
Electrical Estimator: analyse the costs of materials, labour and subcontractors
Electrical Estimator: source supplier and subcontractor quotations and benchmark them against each other
Electrical Estimator: contribute to project budgets, cost planning and value engineering, and keep pricing, estimate and tender records accurate
Electrical Estimator: collaborate with engineers, project managers, suppliers and clients throughout estimating, then assist delivery teams at project handover
Electrical Estimator: deliver tender submissions that are precise and commercially competitive
Industrial Electrician: install, assemble and wire switchboards and control panels, completing industrial installations in both workshop and site environments
Industrial Electrician: test equipment and installations prior to commissioning, and perform commissioning and start-up where required
Industrial Electrician: diagnose faults, carry out corrective repairs and perform scheduled preventative maintenance
Industrial Electrician: interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings
Industrial Electrician: install and work with industrial control and electrical systems, supporting PLC, MCC and automation work where applicable
Industrial Electrician: deliver work to Australian Standards and project specifications while following all health, safety and environmental requirements
Industrial Electrician: partner with engineers, supervisors and other trades to complete projects efficiently

Requirements & Eligibility

Electrical Estimator: demonstrated experience in electrical estimating or electrical project work, backed by solid knowledge of electrical systems, installations and industry practices
Electrical Estimator: capacity to understand and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
Electrical Estimator: track record preparing project estimates and tender submissions, plus an understanding of material, labour and subcontractor costing
Electrical Estimator: electrical trade experience or qualification is advantageous, and experience with estimating and project management software is highly regarded
Electrical Estimator: strong attention to detail and numerical ability, combined with good commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
Electrical Estimator: effective communication with clients, suppliers and project teams
Industrial Electrician: a recognised electrical trade qualification, plus either a current Australian Electrical Licence or eligibility to obtain the appropriate Australian licence
Industrial Electrician: demonstrated industrial electrical experience with hands-on exposure to switchboards, control panels and electrical installations
Industrial Electrician: strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability and the confidence to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Industrial Electrician: current driver's licence
Industrial Electrician: experience with PLCs, MCCs, automation or industrial control systems is advantageous
Industrial Electrician: commissioning experience is highly regarded
Industrial Electrician: able to work independently and within a team, with a firm commitment to quality, safety and professional standards
