An Australian technical service business is recruiting a capable Electrician / Electrical Field Service Technician to support customers that rely on commercial catering and foodservice equipment.

The position blends field service with diagnostics, repairs, testing, commissioning and technical support across varied commercial equipment. Success depends on investigating electrical problems, identifying the root cause of equipment failure and delivering dependable solutions on site.

Working within a professional service team, you will build specialised Australian industry experience, valuable for skilled tradespeople from India and other countries looking to develop a long-term technical career.

Key Responsibilities

Apply systematic diagnostic and troubleshooting methods to investigate equipment failures and identify electrical faults
Undertake electrical servicing and repair work on commercial catering and foodservice equipment
Assess components and circuits using electrical testing instruments
Repair or replace any defective electrical components
Complete wiring and equipment modifications where holding the appropriate licence
Conduct breakdown repairs and scheduled servicing at customer premises
Verify safe operation through equipment testing after repairs
Carry out installation and commissioning of new commercial equipment
Act as a technical resource for customers and other service personnel
Handle technical troubleshooting enquiries received by telephone and email
Support warranty assessments and service-related investigations
Manage service jobs end to end, from initial diagnosis through to completion
Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues and source the components and spare parts needed for repairs
Support the assembly and electrical preparation of equipment
Maintain clear records of service work, repairs and parts used, and contribute to workshop and warehouse operations when required
Represent the service team professionally with customers while following electrical safety requirements and workplace procedures

Requirements & Eligibility

Practical, proven capability in electrical diagnostics and fault finding
A recognised electrical trade qualification
Relevant electrical licence, or eligibility to obtain the licensing required
Strong grasp of electrical circuits, wiring, controls and components
Demonstrated background in repairing and servicing electrical equipment across commercial, industrial, appliance or electro-mechanical applications
Exposure to commercial kitchen or foodservice equipment is advantageous
Prior experience as a field service or mobile technician is highly regarded
Ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical faults
Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills
Professional communication and client service capability, with the ability to collaborate effectively alongside technicians, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers
Good organisational and job-management skills, combined with a reliable approach and strong attention to safety and quality
Gas-related experience or licensing is advantageous
A forklift licence or forklift experience is advantageous
Current Australian driver's licence or equivalent
Ability to supply genuine supporting evidence of qualifications and relevant work experience
