Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with farm management to improve equipment efficiency and reliability
  • Own the reliability and performance of a diverse agricultural machinery fleet
  • Plan and deliver preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and mechanical improvements
  • Diagnose complex faults on tractors, harvesters, sprayers, trucks and wider farm equipment
  • Minimise machinery downtime during critical farming periods through sound technical judgement
  • Perform onsite field repairs and respond promptly to operational breakdowns
  • Assess machinery condition and advise on repairs, replacements and upgrades
  • Maintain service records, maintenance schedules and repair documentation, and manage workshop organisation, tools, parts availability and maintenance processes
  • Provide machinery operators with technical guidance and operational assistance

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Demonstrated experience with agricultural machinery, heavy vehicles or comparable equipment
  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent proven mechanical experience
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
  • Capacity to manage repairs and maintenance responsibilities independently
  • A practical, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Dependable work ethic with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Effective communication with operational teams
  • Willingness to be based in a regional New South Wales agricultural environment
  • Verified trade qualifications and employment history preferred
  • English language evidence and skills assessment documents for sponsorship applicants, along with the ability to meet Australian migration and sponsorship requirements
