Crusher Fitter / Boilermaker

Fitters and boilermakers from India and other countries with strong mechanical problem-solving skills can use this role to build specialist plant expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work confidently from hydraulic diagrams, service manuals and OEM technical literature
  • Use pressure and flow tests to diagnose hydraulic faults and put them right
  • Examine hydraulic parts and repair or swap them out when needed
  • Fault-find on 24V and 12V electrical control circuits
  • Read wiring diagrams and test for voltage and continuity
  • Look after a broad mix of heavy processing machinery, both mobile and stationary
  • Undertake scheduled preventative servicing and inspections, carry out repairs and prepare machines ahead of delivery
  • Trace breakdowns back to their root mechanical cause
  • Evaluate the condition of plant and propose corrective or preventative work
  • Visit customer premises for technical servicing and breakdown call-outs, liaising directly with clients and proposing practical fixes
  • Operate across city, regional and remote sites as projects demand
  • Document each job in detailed service and technical reports, logging inspections, repairs, test results, equipment settings and photographs
  • Deliver every task in line with OEM specifications, site procedures and safety standards
  • Help clients cut downtime and keep their plant running dependably

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Sound hands-on hydraulics knowledge and the capability to read both hydraulic and electrical diagrams
  • Recognised trade qualification relevant to the role, in Fitting, Boilermaking, Mechanical Engineering or an allied discipline
  • At least 2 years' post-trade work in a relevant mechanical setting
  • Exposure to quarry, mining or fixed-plant machinery
  • Highly regarded: a background with crushing, screening or mineral processing plant
  • Proven capability diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
  • A track record on heavy industrial or mobile machinery
  • Basic diagnostic skills on 24V and 12V electrical systems
  • Full unrestricted Australian C Class Driver Licence, or able to obtain one
  • Holding HR and forklift licences is advantageous
  • Open to working between the workshop, customer premises and field sites, with travel to regional and remote areas
  • Physically able to carry out hands-on mechanical work
  • Capable of satisfying pre-employment medical requirements and clearing drug and alcohol testing
