Crane Heavy Diesel Mechanic

A well-established, expanding heavy equipment company is hiring a Mobile Crane Mechanic to keep its modern fleet of mobile cranes and heavy vehicles operating safely, reliably and efficiently across construction, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Drive continuous improvement in the reliability and performance of the crane and heavy equipment fleet
Plan and deliver scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across mobile cranes, heavy equipment and heavy diesel engines and their components, including inspections
Apply diagnostic expertise to mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, and carry out breakdown repairs and emergency call-outs when required
Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and workplace safety standards, and record it through maintenance records, inspection reports and service documentation
Build effective working relationships with operators, workshop staff and site personnel
Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised work environment

Requirements & Eligibility

A trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
A minimum of three years' experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic; experience servicing mobile cranes or heavy plant equipment is highly desirable
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability, complemented by excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Equally effective working independently or as part of a team, with a firm commitment to workplace health and safety practices
A current driver's licence, with an HR licence preferred
A Construction White Card, or the ability to obtain one
